larval fish at FHL
width="400px"

Description: We have been night lighting at Friday Harbor this Summer (2014) and have already picked up a bunch of interesting larval fishes…an interesting one is Agonopsis vulsa, the Northern Spearnose Poacher. As a juvenile it maintains an elongate body posture, but as a larva it swims with its body held stiffly in an S-shape. Does this add lift? They have no swim bladder.
