Bullying and Unexcused Absences

I choose this topic because lately bullying has made its way into the media more and more. So I was interested to see if bullying and unexcused absences is related, and yes it is. The more kids get bullied the less they come to class.

Research Question: Is student bullying related to unexcused absences in school.
Null: Student bullyingis not related to unexcused absences in school.
Alternative: Student bullying is related t o unexcused absences in school.
Used Pearsons Correlation Test
P-Value=.001
Coefficient=-.069
Used Alpha .05 the decisoin was to Reject the Null, Conclusion is Student bullying is related to unexcused absences in school.

I did this research to see if kids who get bullied fight through the pain and still attend school or do they just stay home and have some excuse to why they dont want to attend school. Most students will have an increase in absences if thet are getting bullied. I know that if I was a kid getting bullied I would not want to attend school.
